LETTERS FROM GOD

Alice Heartfelt Art - Letters from God - oil on canvas
– Mummy, do you know that God speaks to us?
– Yes? And what is he saying?
– He is saying: “You should love people, help them and heal them”. You know, when I’m grown up, I will become a doctor. And you know what? Such really poor people will have it for free. You and Dad will also have it for free. But those rich people, who have big mansions and drive expensive limousines, they will have to pay as stated in the price list. Do you know, Mom, what God is saying to You?
– I do not know, because I cannot hear him at all.
– Mom, you do not understand … It’s not like through words, it’s just through brains. It’s just that you immediately know what someone means.
– You know, maybe I’m too tired, I have racing thoughts and that’s why I cannot hear anything … Well, how do you think what God wants to tell me?
– That you should learn to forgive …

Letters from God

Do you think God speaks to us? Do you think that he sends us letters containing the answers to the questions that bother us? Or maybe that he conveys important messages to help us understand the purpose of our existence or the direction we should follow? Or some tips that it would be good to change our priorities and finally spot what we do not want or are unable to see at all? Or maybe words of comfort, when we feel helpless and lonely, in order to give us hope when it seems that we do not have it in us anymore? Or some signals to give us the courage necessary to take actions that seem to be difficult or impossible to achieve, or maybe simply to help us understand that we have the strength, for which we do not suspect ourselves?
Or maybe he tries to send us a message that we are not alone, that the world is full of kind and helpful people, and if we look around, we will notice it for sure? Or maybe he wants to comfort us that we all make life mistakes, because no one is perfect, and every day brings us a chance to change our fate for the better, and if we just draw conclusions from our past experiences and change our behavior, then our life will get back on the right track? Perhaps he just wants to tell us that what really matters in life is love and forgiveness.
I believe that he does, and that every day he sends us letters through various “postmen”. For example through children, who, in simple and uncomplicated words, tell us what really matters in life, and what we forget so easily about. There is the natural, life wisdom in them, not yet disturbed by the surrounding, in which goodness is sometimes called naivety and the lack of life experience, dreams treated as the detachment from reality, and the courage to be yourself and to live by your own values perceived as stupidity and maladjustment to the surrounding world.
Messages that we receive from them often get to the heart of the matter, although initially we can perceive them as the childish naivety, resulting from an idealization and simplification of reality. However, when we reject the limitations of the adult world and think about them deeper, it will turn out that they are exactly what we need at a given moment, just like the life tips or solutions to the problems facing us.
Why then, when we hear something that shakes us, do we deny it so often, try to rationalize it or ignore it? Why do we drown out our inner voice by telling ourselves that this is just a coincidence, a piece of information heard on television or from an adult? Why do we focus more on the logical explanation of the origin of this information, instead of on the message that flows from it, as well as the simple truths of life that are behind it: that it’s worth enjoying the moments, because they are fleeting like butterflies, that our past is not to dwell on it, but to draw conclusions for the future, that hope is not the mother of fools, but a source of strength and courage, necessary to make dreams come true and overcome difficulties, that it’s worth believing in people and doing good, because it always returns, that it is worth forgiving, because nobody is perfect, whereas love is not because of, but despite something.
So let us listen carefully and be open, because every day the postman can bring us an important message that we need so much. Let us either remember that we, consciously or not, are also like messages sent to other people, each day shaping the world through the content that we carry with us.
